History

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is a cultural and recreational park located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Serving as a microcosm of the nation, it offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the diverse cultures, traditions, and natural beauty of Indonesia in one expansive complex. The history of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah dates back to the vision of Indonesia's former First Lady, Mrs. Tien Soeharto. In the 1970s, she sought to create a space that would preserve and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago. With the help of prominent architects and cultural experts, TMII was officially opened to the public on April 20, 1975.
